The multiple mini-interview (MMI) is a modified assessment centre that maximises reliability and efficiency of implementation. The one-to-one candidate-assessor stations ensure that candidates are given the best opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Like the assessment centre, the MMI is suitable for higher volume selection e.g., graduates, undergraduates, postgraduates, call centres. However, research consistently provides evidence that the MMI is more acceptable to candidates and less demanding on assessors.
